And so, in settling disputes, John Taylor lays out some principles that I just love.
He says, “Whenever a man would attempt to pop you through the law of the land, you should pop him through the courts of our church.
You should bring him up for violating the laws of the church for going to law before the ungodly instead of using the means that God has appointed.
So if you’re a part of the kingdom of God and you’re still going to the Gentile courts to settle a dispute, basically you’re involved in idolatry.
You’re saying that you do not recognize the kingdom of God and that you only recognize the satanic governments that are ruled by a satanic conspiracy.
He goes on and He says, “And I will give you fair warning, and I call upon Brother Peery here, who is present at the stake, to carry it out, that when he finds any Latter -day Saint, under his jurisdiction, going to law with his brother before the ungodly, to bring him up and deal with him for his fellowship.”
This is a correct principle before God, and as saints of God, we should be governed by His laws and not by the laws of the world.
We should be governed by his laws, not by the laws of a satanic government.
And when we get through classes four and five, you’re going to understand what he’s talking about here, because literally the governments that we are under right now, again, like we have out west, this invading government, is clearly satanic.
And to say that we are going to submit ourselves to those laws above the laws of God is just insanity.
He goes on to say, “But these laws are made and provided for our protection, and when it’s proper and right, we can use them in common with other citizens.”
So he’s saying that because people not in the kingdom, they haven’t made a covenant to be a part of that kingdom, and so to be able to protect our rights with those that are not a part of the kingdom of God, then you use those courts because those individuals outside of the kingdom haven’t promised, you know, haven’t subjected themselves to be a part of the kingdom of God. And so they’re not going to recognize that.
And it wouldn’t be fair to hold you accountable to those that you haven’t said that you would be accountable to.
So, but we have laws among ourselves and all honorable men among us will submit to the decisions of our church authorities, and those who are not honorable, we do not want.
And we will cut them off.
If you’re not going to be subject to the kingdom of God that you said you were going to be subjected to, and we don’t want you, go ahead and move on.
If you’re not going to repent, just make
things easier for everybody.
things easier for everybody.
