The Jonestown Death Tape (FBI No. Q 042)
Audio Description
Many people use Jim Jones and his "church," the People's Temple, as an example of religious extremism.
This is false.
At the beginning of this cassette tape recording, you will hear Jones himself say, "…if we were Judeo-Christian, and not Communists…"
Towards the end, he rhetorically asks, "Are we Black, proud and socialist?" while convincing his followers to commit what he called "revolutionary suicide."
It is important to understand history correctly.
